The surgery took place on Tuesday at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital and by that evening Hope past away. The parents of Hope, Laura and Aled Williams, were with their daughter when she died. Faith was placed in intensive care where she is said to have a 50 percent chance of survival. It is believed Faith’s lungs had been supporting Hope and when she was cut off from that source she was unable to breathe on her own. Born on Nov. 26, the two girls were joined at the chest to the lower part of their stomachs and while they each had a heart they shared a liver and intestines. All six players were suspended without pay for using a diuretic, which can serve as a masking agent for steroids. The punishment means all six will miss the end of the regular season, which is a serious blow to the Vikings, which lose their two stalwarts on a defense that is second in the NFL in rushing yards. A seventh player, Atlanta's Grady Jackson, was not suspended. If a player's team qualifies for the playoffs, the suspended player will be be eligible to return to the active roster on Dec. 29. The team also placed him on the reserve non-football injury list, which means Burress couldn't come back for the playoffs. The team punished Burress a day after he was charged with illegal weapons possession, which carries a penalty of 3½ to 15 years in prison if he's convicted. Burress is due back in court again on March 31, unless he reaches a plea agreement. French President Nicolas Sarkozy announced that Dany Egreteau, 32, had been released following a month of captivity after the French foreign ministry worked to secure his freedom. Egreteau had been traveling through Kabul with another aid worker when their vehicle was attacked. While the other aid worker was able to escape Egreteau was seized and a driver was shot and killed. The education specialist had just arrived in Afghanistan a week earlier. Sarkozy acknowledged Egreteau’s release stating, “He is well, his family is being informed. The demonstration were to take place in the capital city of Harare but police arrived and ordered the medical workers to disperse, in some cases using batons to move the protesters. Zimbabwe has been hit hard by a cholera outbreak that has now claimed more than 560 lives since August. The country has sunk into an economic crisis and as a result the health and sanitation sectors have been severely affected. Most of the country is without clean water and there are several incidents of sewage flowing in streets. With no money for the health sector there has been no way to stop the cholera outbreak which is inflamed by poor drinking water and unsanitary conditions. Sanader, the target of much of the protests, has expressed concern over the arrests saying, “This is not about this or that government or party, but about freedom.” He continued, “No one should be detained or arrested in Croatia for expressing different views.” Activists were using Facebook as a means to form groups of anti-government protesters and transmit posters and event schedules. At least two activists have been arrested but police have argued that the arrests were made because they were using Nazi symbols, an illegal act, in their depiction of Sanader. Sanader has promised to institute reforms to the justice system in Croatia as it continues to try and gain entry to the European Union. Civil’s lawyer Kate Anderson confirmed that “he has been recalled” but refused to reveal the reason. A source close to Civil says that he failed a drug test. The Sun reports that Civil ran away from rehab Tuesday night to visit Winehouse, who remains hospitalized in London for ongoing treatment. Anderson says that the “position on the recall is that your serve the remainder of the sentence.” Civil, 26, was sentenced to 27 months in prison on charges of assault and attempting to pervert the course of justice. He was released early last month and ordered to rehab. Civil will now remain in jail until 2010.
